A Message to Garcia

Today in class we read A Message To Garcia, by Elbert Hubbard. It was a very interesting yet short story. The story was written in about 1899. I learned that Garcia lived somewhere up in the mountains, but no one was absolutely sure on exactly where he lived. Roan was chosen to find Garcia and give him a letter. I thought that the author was trying to make the reader realize how when Roan was chosen to take the message he didn't ask any questions and just did as he was told. We know that most people out in the world are lazy and would ask like a million questions before doing what they were told. By then you minds well just  do it by yourself. Overall the message that the class got was that even though there are lazy people out  there in the world there are also people who are not lazy and do what they are told when they are supposed to. Even though we read the passage we also had a bit of fun in class today too. We talked about how Mr.Schick like the name Elbert and that he would name his next dog that. Even though we took time to learn  I still had a ton of fun in class today. Even though I have only went to Human Geo two times I can see that i am really going to enjoy Mr.Schick's class.
